WELCOME TO THE 2nd GASTRONOMY WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIP!

The international gastronomy meets in Ischgl for the 2nd time,
looking for the Gastronomy’s Ski World Champion.

For the first time in 2010: Team competition

From 21st to 22nd April 2010 a spectacle of a special kind will take place for the second time: The Gastronomy World Ski Championship.

In 2009, bartenders, waiters / waitresses, chefs, sommeliers, hoteliers and restaurateurs participated in this skiing spectacle for the first time, determining the gastronomy’s first ski world champion by means of a giant slalom in the lifestyle and skiing metropolis Ischgl. After delivering maximum performances, the 140 participants celebrated in Paznaun in Ischgl.

On 2 competition days, the participants will compete against each other in the giant slalom in the following categories: “Chefs, Restaurateurs and Hoteliers“ (21st April) and “Sommeliers, Waiters / Waitresses, Bartenders and - for the first time - Winegrowers“ (21st April). There will be two runs each. For the first time, this year participants will also have the possibility to compete in teams determining the Team World Champion per category. The starting pistol will sound on both days at 10:30 on the famous Idalp at 2,500 m altitude in Ischgl - calling the participants to compete for trophies and honour.

The Idalp show stage offers the perfect scenery for show cooking, presentations and tastings, while all participants and their guests are invited to party in Ischgl’s famous après-ski scene. The awards ceremony and party takes place in the evening in different ‘hip’ clubs and après-ski venues.

This summit meeting of the gastronomy business, a unique event worldwide, is seen as an international communication forum of the branch. Not to forget the racing training together with skiing stars - as in the previous year a highlight which rounds up this gastronomy spectacle on skis.

This event is sponsored by the main partners Champagne Laurent-Perrier and Ischgl, as well as by S. Pellegrino and Nespresso.

We look forward to welcoming you in Ischgl!
